Zambot 3 – Assembly Protocol
Three vehicles lock in the dark
King Beal’s spine clicks
into hydraulic prayer.
Kappei, ten years old,
fingers on levers like family veins
still warm from Beal’s ashes.
Gaizok bloom overhead—
mecha-boosts, chrome locusts
chewing the sky we promised to keep.
Each fist that saves a city
craters three more.
Civilians hurl the word hero
back at us like shrapnel.
We are the invasion they fear most.Uchuta’s laugh stalls in the combiner roar.
Keiko’s pulse flatlines in the cockpit glass.
One by one the code rewrites itself:
family → wreckage → legend.
Tomino’s first quiet kill list
etched in alloy and boy-blood.
Invincible?
Only the metal keeps lying.
The boy inside already knows
the ending was written in exile.
Zambot 3 – After-Action Log
Log Entry, Cycle 26.
Earth grid reference: irrelevant.
Gaizok neutralized. Collateral: three districts, two schools, one childhood.
Pilot status: still breathing, barely.
The giant stands in the smoke
like a question no one asked.
Zambot 3, Muteki Chōjin,
three names fused into one scar.
We came from Beal to hide,
built salvation out of spare parts and grief.
Now the people we shield
curse our shadow longer than the enemy’s.
[Fragment – Pilot Voice]
Kappei screams into the void
but the void screams back
in his cousins’ voices
already gone.
This is not victory.
This is the genre cracking open
in 1977,
a super robot learning
that invincibility
is just another word
for alone.
